There are millions of excuses for why we cannot be awesomely holy. Why we cannot pursue sainthood.
One of the worst reasons is to plead that a particular action that we want to engage in, that we know does not bring us closer to the heart of God is not illegal.
There are a lot of things that are not illegal.
There are a lot of things that Jesus didn't address specifically.
If you want to find a reason to do something, and you are going through a lot of effort to justify it, or at the very least you come up with some excuse like, "It's not illegal" or "Jesus never talked about this SPECIFICALLY in the Gospels" then you and I should probably pause.
What if we put the effort we are putting into justification into convincing ourselves to pursue the heart of God?
What would change?
What do you do to overcome the temptation to do things that you know will not lead you to holiness but society doesn't find to be "that bad"?
