Count me in! God is calling me - loudly! -- to be holy as He is holy... as He does us all!

I'm actually in the process of preparing for my total consecration to Jesus through Mary (St. Louis de Montfort). This is a perfect completement to a process God has already set in motion in my heart. I desire holiness more than anything... but let's see how that plays out in day to day living. Dying to self isn't, easy, but God knows, it's worth it!

I am so in. I am presently training to be a spiritual director and am more and more being called to use my gift for writing to affect change in the world. I do that through my blog and essays and facebook and any way God puts in my path.

I like the idea of sainthood and surrender. Ready to do God's will at all times in whatever way God calls me to has been my prayer of late.

Dear Todd,

Thank you for the inspiring words and the "call to arms" you post every day. I always look forward to reading them. I want to join the Sainthood project. I am sick of just being mediocre - there is nothing that really diferentiates me from the person next to me. I want to be saint in ALL areas of my life and give it all to God. I want to be the woman Christ has called me to be. I kept thinking, well I can join this project once school is out and I have the summer to do it. Wrong! Christ does not call us when the time is convienent, but He calls us NOW! I am dedicating this effort to the Blessed Mother and her intercession and also Blessed Teresa of Calcutta and her prayers (I am going to need all the help I can get!). Thank you for giving me the push I needed to dive into Sainthood!

In a summary, the entire point of the project is to change our attitude toward faith and toward life.

The most important step is to pray. If you feel that this is ineffective, or that it is not giving you the desired results, look at Mother Theresa's example and pray some more. It is like learning something new. It is not easy and the results are seldom what we expect.

The next step is to make that statement about what needs to change in your life in order to be a saint. You seem to indicate that your actions do not match what you believe. This will take some expanding but the answer is simple: change your actions.

This is how change will be affected in the people around you and especially your family.

How do you change your actions?

Pray. Pray as you are walking. Pray as you are driving. Pray as you are talking. Pray when you are tempted.

The more you pray, the more your actions will change as you realize what you need to do, or stop doing.

When others see this change, they will respond in a few ways:

Admiration
Anger
Envy
Love
Hatred

There will be no middle ground. You will not be able to control it. It will simply be.

This is not a "method" or a "program" so don't approach it as such.

It is a way to simply be in the presence of God at all times, for that is what a saint is. When you are in the presence of God, your life will change. When you are in the presence of God, you will "become love" as St. Theresa of Liseux says.

I am a Youth Minister at St. Bruno Catholic Church in Whittier, CA. (Southern California). I want to be holy. I want to be a saint. My life is in need of matching the Word I believe in. I'm somewhat confused as to what else I should do as I follow your steps, other than pray because I'm doing a ton of that these days. Look forward to hearing from you.
